Buy Rigid Board Insulation

Rigid Boards are the most popular insulation currently available

Rigid Board Insulation is the most popular type of insulation currently available. Primarily used on the roofs, walls and floors of domestic housing, offices, retail, industrial, warehousing facilities and educational premisses, to name but a few.

These boards are commonly manufactured using a solid foam core derived from Phenolic, PIR, Extruded Polystyrene or Expanded Polystyrene.

Phenolic Foam and PIR Boars commonly have aluminium foil or glass tissue facings. Some boards are bonded to other materials, such as Plasterboard or Plywood. Polystyrene boards outer facings are sealed during the manufacturing process, resulting in a robust resistance to water or vapour ingress.

A brief review of the various Rigid Insulation Boards is listed below.

Rigid PIR Board insulation installer

Brief product information is as follows ...

  • Rigid PIR insulation boards are perhaps the most popular commonly used house insulation.
  • There is a significant number of PIR board manufacturers, including Celotex, EcoTherm, Kingspan, Recticel, and more.
  • PIR insulation is significantly cheaper than the better performing Phenolic equivalent.
  • The thermal and fire performance of some application specific PIR boards exceeds those of some standard boards
  • All of the PIR products that we sell fully meet the requirements of current Building Control legislation.
  • Rigid PIR insulation boards are perhaps the most popular commonly used house insulationAvailability:
PIR boards are stocked at all of our depots, although the Product Brands held on site varies throughout the country.

Polystyrene EPS & XPS Rigid Insulation Boards

Polystyrene insulation can be the cheapest board insulation but does significantly increase space requirements

Brief product information is as follows ...

  • Polystyrene insulation can be the cheapest board insulation. However, it does significantly increase space requirements
  • Polystyrene insulation comes in two flavours EPS (Expanded) and XPS (Extruded). Of the two, XPS out-performs EPS.
  • EPS & XPS features low water absorption properties.
  • They are low weight products that offer excellent impact resistance and high compressive strength.
  • Branded polystyrene insulation boards contain a fire retardant additive, and do not present an undue fire hazard when correctly installed. Non-branded polystyrene boards may present an increased fire risk.
  • All of the Polystyrene products that we sell fully meet the requirements of current Building Control legislation.
  • Availability:
EPS Polystyrene boards are stocked at our medium to large sized depots.
Due to manufacturing complexities, XPS insulation products are generally sourced directly from the Manufacturers
We cannot split the small pack loads in which these products are supplied
